Today AIDS has posed a greater threat to human life and health as it is spreading widely like fire in woods and so far there is no successful and affordable remedy available. However, circumcision is being considered the best way to fight against AIDS, as researches on circumcision has revealed that it protects from many diseases including AIDS, therefore UNAIDS, a subdivision of UNO has recommended and announced in the 17th international AIDS conference that everyone should circumcise to curb the fatal pandemic.
According to Dr. Pedro Cahn, the president of international AIDS society, circumcision reduces the risk of HIV/AIDS to 40%. According to a research officer Faculae Lohse, circumcision is a little surgery and has lots of benefits.
UNO has launched a campaign at war scale in order to prevent AIDS and now pressurizing India to bring about awareness among common folk regarding circumcision. Though islamically, circumcision is a religious practice; yet its medical usefulness is undeniable; and good practice must not be avoided just because it belongs to another religion. So Indian government needs to give in to UNO recommendations and prevent AIDS through circumcision, a medically-good practice. The government should launch an official campaign the way our health minister did against tobacco consumption and criticized all big leaders, film stars and industrialists for smoking.
Apart from circumcision, there are also other precautionary measures against this fatal disease. Here are some listed below
Keep away the body fluids of anybody.
Always use fresh hypodermic needle and crush it after use so that nobody can use it.
When going hair salon keep along a fresh blade for shaving and make sure they use it.
Use fresh blade for child circumcision.
Recommend the medical practitioners, surgeons, Dentists and acupunctureexperts in your locality to manage the availability of boiling water consistently, and have at least two set of scalpels and other medical tools so that one set remain in boiling water while the other one in use. Keep in mind that only a single dip in hot water is not sufficient enough to kill AIDS virus, but tools should remain in boiling water for five minutes at least to be cleansed properly.
Offer a clean needle or fresh hypodermic needle to get the nose or earlobes pierced, and never let the piercer use his own.
Always use fresh needle in blood test.
Do not put any tattoo on your body as tattoo machine is also may have AIDS virus.
Never use others tooth brush or tooth paste.
Would be better, if you have a towel and comb exclusively yours.AIDS spreads through addictive-drug users, homosexuals, prostitutes, eunuchs and all those who are promiscuous. Casual interaction like sharing a meal or shaking hand with AIDS patients does not transmit HIV. So do not hate the victim but abhor the causes after the spread of AIDS. It is very necessary to keep from the pits AIDS creeps through,or else one is likely to fall in and will have to pay an unbearable cost; that may be life too. A good sign it is that USA has started taking grave steps to stop its spread. USA president Barack Obama has announced a new agenda to escalate the research work on HIV/AIDS. Addressing an assembly in Washington at the occasion of world AIDS day observed on Sunday 1stDecember, Obama announced that hundred million dollars would be sanctioned for the National Institute of Health to prepare new generation of medicines to cure HIV and AIDS. In Obama's words USA should stand in first row when it comes to come out with a breakthrough; so that a long term plan regarding HIV treatment could be executed that would end lifelong medicine use or in better case bring this pandemic to an end. Obama added that many policies had recently been successfully implemented. He said, in USA waiting time for getting AIDS medicine had come to end last week, and they had met the target of making antivirus medicines easily accessible to six million people round the world. Unites States Secretary of foreign affairs John Kerry said, the world had significantly moved forward to fight against AIDS, yet the battlewas not over. To him it is a challenge to be faced with firm conviction and unfaltering endeavor as to undergo the experience successfully and reach on time with no further delay to those who are suffering with disease.
To be noted, world AIDS day is observed every year on first December since 1988. HIV/AIDS activist are of the opinion that observance of the day is crucial in the meaning it reminds people and states that the disease still exists. According toCenters for Disease Control in USA, there are 35 million people around the globe who are HIV infected. HIV is a virus causes AIDS. Since 1981 till present more than 25 million people suffering from AIDS, have lost their lives. Thus, the pandemic has proved to be the most disastrous ever communicable disease.
