Obesity is rising phenomenally in our times due to our sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical activities. The surprising fact is that overweight people tend to ignore their excess weight, and hence do not think about seeking a treatment. Due to this, they fall victim to many medical conditions which are caused by excess weight such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, pain in the joints and brain issues.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the percentage of overweight and obese people have increased phenomenally in the period between 1990 and 2008. Earlier, the obesity was found only in the First World (developed countries), but now the issue is taking a grim shape even in Asian and African countries. Today, nearly 65% or more than half of the world's population is overweight, and the percentage is increasing every alternate day.

There are various causes of obesity. The biggest reasons are junk or fast food and lack of physical activities. Earlier, people as well as children used to run and do various health activities and play sports in their free time, but today the technology, which has numerous benefits, has one of the biggest side effects; it has taken our free time as we are becoming net addicts and tend to avoid open field activities like running, playing games, or simply enjoying the nature. In short, we ignore our health.

Some people inherit obesity and so it is in their genes. Such persons should devote a good amount of their time in doing various exercises to avoid different diseases. Insomnia, which is also a major issue these days, can cause obesity. According to some health experts, smoking is also a contributory factor as lack of sleep and smoking produces a number of chemical changes in the body and interfere with the glucose production and its function which can also cause excess weight.

It is a well known fact that environmental pollution causes dozens of diseases and its intensity is increasing heavily everywhere. According to the latest research by the University of Granada (Spain), environmental pollution can also cause obesity and it has been found that the more polluted regions have more overweight poeple. According to another research, environmental pollution is also the cause of the POP (persistent organic polllutant) which can increase weight as well as the level of cholesterol and triglyceride in the body.

These factors increase the chances of cardiovascular diseases. According to that report, POP does not go away but remains in the air for years and enters human body through food and water. The researchers used 300 men and women to know the relationship between pollutants and obesity.

The surprising thing in our society is that overweight people are considered as 'khaate peete ghar ke' or the well-fed and comfortable people. Asian countries including India and Pakistan are getting affetcted heavily as people are becoming lazy and gorge on oily food and do not exercise. People park their cars closer to avoid walking and use lifts instead of stairs and sit for long hours without taking frequent breaks. All these reasons put them at the risk of obesity.

Park, gardens and open fields are the places of health and fitness. They keep the society healthy. People have stopped going out as parks and gardens are shrinking in large cities due to mindless and fast urbanization. Terrrorism has also stopped people from coming out in the open. They try to do most of their jobs sitting at home. In contrast to developing countries like India, people in developed countries like Sweden are more physically active despite being rich. They take their health seriously and do not shy away from jogging and cycling, while we consider cycling and walking as the symptoms of poverty. People here use bikes or cars for even walking distances. These habits too cause excess weight.

A person become reclusive in his own society due to his excess weight. He falls victim to many conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, high BP, pain in the joints, sugar and intestinal diseases. According to various researches, these diseases can be controlled 70 to 80% if a person succeeds in addressing his weight issue. But it should be noted that there are different treatments for different kinds of obesity and excess weight. it is not necessary that a certain treatment can be effective in every case.

Certain lifestyle changes can bring good results. Walking, taking a good breakfast, cycling, drinking 10-12 glasses of water a day can help an overweight man to shed his excess weight. Take a light lunch and include fruit and salad in your diet. Relax for some time after lunch, and take your your dinner at least two hours before going to bed. Walk for some time after dinner. Avoid bakery items, carbonated drinks and sweets.

It is presumed that liposuction can cure obesity, but the fact is that this method is used only to remove excess fat from a part of the body. Liposuction is related to body shape and not body weight. If you fail to change your lifestyle habits, the removed fats come back soon. Tummy Tuck is for those who have pot bellies which are protruding downwards. This is a good therapy for women whose bellies tend to come out unshapely after childbirth. In this therapy, stomach muscles are tightened. Sleeve gastrectomy is good for those whose weight is 40-50 kg more than their ideal weight. This is performed without making an incision. In this, a person with a weight of 160 kg can bring down his weight to 90-95 kg in one year.

In stomach ballooning, a synthetic balloon is inserted inside a fat person's stomach. This is useful for those who cannot go for a surgery. As cancer is highly prevalent these days and is an untreatable disease, obesity too is covering the entire world fastly and is becoming quite untreatable due to people's unwillingness to change their lifestyle and take proper treatment. Today, slimming centres which were earlier found mainly in Europe are mushrooming eveywhere. They treat obesity with their trademark diet plans and exercises, but make you chronically ill with several side effects. A person who goes to any of these centres remains fit as long as he is following their food chart and medication, but becomes sick once he quits it. So, it is better to remain natural.

According to the latest research done in Sweden, the income of overweight people is around 16% less than normal employees. This research has been done on 150000 persons and included factors such as childhood obesity, young age obesity, lifestyle changes, personality differences, income differences, etc. The researchers revealed that overweight children are affected with different medical conditions and have to face criticism and taunts from their healthy fellows which may affect them psychologically. These fat children find it tough to get jobs when they grow up and do not preform as productively as healthy workers, and hence get 16% less salary. There are many cases in which people who were once overweight became surprisingly healthy and fit by taking certain so-called medicines available in markets with high claims. But once they stopped those medicines, they again became overweight. So, avoid such medications that claim too much in short period as treating obesity is a long-term process. Below, we are mentioning certain herbs that can help you shed weight naturally:

Grind these until they become a powder. Then fill big sized capsules with the powder. Take 1 or 2 capsules with water before meals. InshaALLAH, this will help you shed your excess weight. An extremely fat lady who has become tired of diffrent treatments without much results took this medicine continuously for a period and it helped her shed 17 pounds in only 45 days.

Avoid three things when you are taking this medicine: rice, sugar and fatty items, as they are major causes of weight gain.
