Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease in which your blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels are too high. Glucose comes from the foods you eat. Insulin is a hormone that helps the glucose get into your cells to give them energy. With type 1 diabetes, your body does not make insulin. With type 2 diabetes, the more common type, your body does not make or use insulin well. Without enough insulin, the glucose stays in your blood. You can also have prediabetes. This means that your blood sugar is higher than normal but not high enough to be called diabetes. Having prediabetes puts you at a higher risk of getting type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder, which is characterized by exceptional high blood glucose in the blood circulation due to lack of insulin (type-1diabetes) or ineffective (type-2 diabetes) utilization of insulin hormone in the body. As we are already aware, insulin regulates the blood glucose level and keeps it in a normal range. Diabetes is one of the leading causes of organ failure, coma, and death worldwide.

It can be detected after several tests such as:

HbAc1 Test: this test reveals the average blood glucose level of the past three months as our red blood cells have around 3 months of life. Higher the value higher the blood glucose level, it should be in the range of 7% or less.

Random blood sugar (postprandial) test: This test is done anytime regardless when you had last meal. A value greater or equal to 200 mg/dl is an indication of diabetes.

Fasting blood sugar test: It is done after 8 or 12- hour fasting, blood sugar more than100 ml/dl is an indication of borderline diabetes. Selection physician and the type of treatment (Unani or Allopathic) is really important to control this life-threatening disease, moreover it is equally important to get rid of diabetes completely to save lives but the western medicines or synthetic medicines we take to treat diabetes are not designed to give long-lasting cure for the diabetes, infect Allopathic medicines only increase the dependency forever without providing wholesome cure.
