Although, the Society was formed in 1989, that Society started honouring the eminent physicians of Ayurveda and Unani in the year 1995. It became necessary to recognize the services of such people who brought laurels in the field of Indian System of Medicine in different ways, i.e., either by their research work or publication work or manufacturing the drugs of Indian System of Medicine or by treating patients with miraculous results. Dr. B.C. Roy awards is being conferred to the best & eminent Allopathic Physicians but as such there was no awards which were being conferred in the field of Indian System of Medicine, the society keeping in view the upliftment of Indian System of Medicine especially Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy started “All India Hakim Ajmal Khan Global Awards.”

Initially, the awards were conferred to the Best Unani physician, best Ayurvedic physician, best Unani drug manufacturing company, best Ayurvedic drug manufacturing company, Best Allopathic physician and for organizational and social Tibbi Services. In the year 2000, one more award for the best homeopathic physician added. In 2005, a new award was started for the best acupuncture physician.

In 2006, the name of the award was given a new turn in this era of modernization and globalization-- The Hakim Ajmal Khan Global Awards. One more award was also added in the same year for organizational and social Vedic services. These awards were conferred to the masters in their field. Their services are of Great Value for the Indian System of Medicine, nationally as well as internationally.

Vaidya Devendra Tiriguna, Vaidya Nanak Chand Sharma, Vaidya pratap Chauhan, Vaidya Harish verma, Dr. Marc Helpern, prof. Mohd. Tayyab. Hakim Ved prakash Sharma, Hakim Anis Ahmad Ansari, Hakim Mohd. Khalid Siddiqui, Hakim Khalifat- u -llah, Hakim Shamsul Afaq, Hakim Mukhtar Ahmad Islahi, Dr. M. Khaleel –u-llah, Dr. M. Wali, Dr. V.H. Talib, Dr. H.S. Rissam, The Himalya Harbal Health Care, Charak Pharmaceuticals, AIIMIL, Baidyanath, Universal medicaments, Jiva Ayurvada, Rex Remedies, Sadar Dwakhana, Hootone Remedies, Neelam laborations, Hermis Unani Pharmacy are some of the main figures who had been the recipients of this prestigious Award in diffident years for their achievements.

In 1995, the awards were conferred to the awardees at the President’s House in New Delhi by His Excellency, the President of India Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma. In 1996 awards were also conferred by Late Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma at constitution club, New Delhi. 1997 and 1998 awards were conferred by Mrs. Sheela Dixit, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi. 1999 & 2000 awards were conferred by Dr. (Mrs.) Najma Heptullah, the than Deputy Chairman (Upper house) and president, International parliamentary fourm. 2003, 2004 & 2005 award were conferred by Dr. Ambumani Ramdoss, the Hon’ble Health and Family Welfare Minister (Govt. of India) at the Ambassador Hotel in New Delhi and 2006 awards were conferred by Dr. Yoganand Shastri, the Hon’ble Minister of Health, Delhi at India Islamic Cultural Center, New Delhi. 2007 awards presented by Hon’ble Smt. Shiela Dixit ji, the Chief Minister of Delhi at Delhi Secretariat at New Delhi.

Those who want to submit their nominations must complete the nomination form along with a resume including their achievements. Two color passport size photographs must accompany the nomination form.



A Seven member award committee has been constituted by the executive committee of the society. It is headed by Prof. Hakim M. S. Usmani and includes eminent personalities from the field of Ayurveda, Unani and Allopathic systems. The Committee will evaluate the nominations for the awards. The committee’s verdict shall be final and binding;
