The quwa (faculties) is that property
of the body, with which the phenomenon
of life is manifested. The quwa (faculties)
provide the basis for different bodily
functions.
Each and every organ is furnished
with a power, quwat (faculty), through
which specific physiological functions
are performed by that particular organ.
These quwa (faculties) are specific
for a particular tissue or organ on
which the specific functions of that
organ depends.
KINDS OF QUWA
There are three major divisions of
quwa (faculties) of the body.
1. Al-quwa al tabiyah (natural faculties)
2. Al – quwa al nafsaniyah (psychic
or mental faculties)
3. Al-quwa al haywaniah (vital faculties)
