HAKIM AJMAL KHAN MEMORIAL SOCIETY

AN INTRODUCTION

Although, the Society was formed in 1989, the Society started honouring the eminent physicians of Ayurveda and Unani in the year 1995. It became necessary to recognize the services of such people who brought laurels in the field of Indian System of Medicine in different ways, i.e., either by their research work or publication work or manufacturing the drugs of Indian System of Medicine or by treating patents with miraculous results.

Dr. B.C. Roy awards is being conferred to the best & eminent Allopathic Physicians but as such there was no awards which were being conferred in the field of Indian System of Medicine, the society keeping in view the upliftment of Indian System of Medicine especially Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy started “All India Hakim Ajmal khan Awards.”

Though effective, inexpensive and easily available, the Unani system of medicine still continues to lurk on the fringes of alternative healing, perhaps due to its unfamiliarity or due to its Muslim associations.

Gaurav, a 10-year-old boy could not move his hands or feet when he was brought to Hakim Jameel Ahmed five years ago. Suffering from cerebral palsy, with an underdeveloped cognitive level, he could neither think nor talk properly.

Now 15 years later, thanks to Unani treatment, he is not only able to walk well but also talk ten to the dozen. Despite the absence of formal research on a cure in Unani for cerebral palsy among children, Hakim Jameel had been moved by the miserable condition of the child to experiment and successfully cure him.

Now after further research and medication on patients suffering from cerebral palsy, Unani's usefulness in dealing with cerebral palsy is being heavily discussed.

KNOW YOUR TEMPERAMENT

USES OF KALONJI OIL

1. In Asthma , Allergy & cough: In one cup hot water add 1 tsf of honey and ½ tsf kalonji oil. This should be taken before breakfast and after dinner: Advice—avoid cold things . This treatment should be continued for 40 days.

2. Diabetes Mellitus (Sugar): In a cup of tea without milk add ½ tsf kalonji oil, should be taken twice a day. Advice—Avoid all fatty foods. If (Sugar) Diabetes treatment is also continued with this then reduce the dose side by side. This treatment should be continued for 20 days. After investigations, if sugar becomes normal then stop this treatment.

3. Heart diseases: 1/2 tsf of kalonji oil is added in a cup of milk, should be taken twice a day. Advice: Avoid all fatty foods. This treatment is continued for 10 days. After ten days, only once a day of this is given.
